Originally from Houston, Texas, I received my M.Sc. in Research Methods in Psychology from University of Bristol in 1999, and my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from The University of Mississippi in 2002.
I spent 7 1/2 years lecturing at Miyazaki International College, a four-year liberal arts university in Southern Japan. While there, I worked with academic staff in developing blended learning courses using Moodle, and made extensive use of Moodle as a supplement to enhance student learning in my own psychology courses.
From there, I moved with my husband and our assorted pets to New Zealand, where I began working as an academic developer with Massey University in Albany, assisting instructors in the design and development of their courses in Stream, Massey's version of Moodle. After completing my contract with Massey University, I moved to the South Island where I spent three years designing both face-to-face and eLearning courses for the New Zealand Defence Force as a Learning Designer in sunny Blenheim, Marlborough.
